AUTO CAD is a widely used two-dimensional design software, and MASTERCAM, SOLIDWORKS and UNI, GRAPHICS are commonly used three-dimensional software. If it is a part designed with 2D software, it must be converted to 3D software first. Now use PRO-E software to introduce the design of die casting mold.


1. Analysis of parts die casting process

Die-casting parts designed with three-dimensional software can be calculated in any direction and any cross-section for three-dimensional display of parts, which is convenient for observation and analysis, and establishes a complete three-dimensional concept of parts, which reduces the daily labor of workers, and comprehensively analyzes the die-casting process, with a higher error rate. small. At the early stage of mold design, from the perspective of the die-casting process, the structural dimensions of the parts can be modified in the product design, and the position of the parting surface, the size and position of the gate, the position of the slag bag, the position of the ejector, etc. Obtain product design approval.


2. Casting design

According to the die-casting process plan, determine the parting surface, the corresponding draft direction and inclination, the parts that need to be cast holes, those holes that need to be processed, the core-pulling part and the core-pulling scheme, and the key control dimensions of the part (such as the large end The size is still small end size), machining allowance, etc., so as to complete the design of the die casting. After the casting model is approved by the product design, it is only necessary to consider the shrinkage rate when designing the die-casting mold. Convert the part drawing to the casting drawing and calculate the core-forming size;


3. The overall design of the die-casting mold

Starting from die-casting mold design, first, determine the process parameters, select the model, mold dimensions, installation location, ejection, mold opening, mold clamping, ejection, check whether there is interference, and then verify whether the model and process parameters are reasonable, and then according to Die casting information, weight, wall thickness, structural characteristics, projected area, etc. are checked. Verify the parting surface, the projected area of the core-pulling surface, the clamping force, and the core locking force.
